Mass Communication students can get involved with a range of independent student media groups on campus.
The Towerlight
is an award-winning independent newspaper produced by Towson University students. It is published twice-weekly by Baltimore Student Media, Inc. To apply to be a member of the staff, The newspaper awards a $1,000 scholarship to one incoming freshman each year.
XTSR
is a student-run Internet radio station. Students manage, promote, program and DJ the station. DJ shifts typically run from 9 a.m. to midnight and include a wide range of music genres. The station has been broadcasting from the Towson University campus since 1971.
