How It Works
Participants receive a financial-planning case that includes family information, goals, and financial statements two weeks prior to the competition date, and they will prepare a 15-20-minute presentation for industry professionals. During the presentation, students will present their financial plan to the “client” as well as make investment recommendations based on risk characteristics and the goals proposed by the family represented in the competition case. The presentation is followed by a Q&A session.
The industry professionals participate as judges using a rubric developed by industry professionals. All clients/judges are career financial services professionals.
